September 29th, 2021

HCPSS, the Howard County Health Department, and the Maryland Partnership for Prevention will offer flu clinics for students and staff at Atholton High School on Monday, October 18th. The flu vaccines will be provided at no cost to families.

Parents who elect for their child(ren) to receive the flu vaccination must register online before Friday, October 8. Parents must complete a consent form during the online registration process, or may instead complete a paper consent form, which is available from their child’s school nurse.

To register and provide consent online:

Go to: https://tinyurl.com/HoCPSSFlu2021
Type your child’s school name in “Search by Name,” then press the blue “Search” button.
Once your school’s name appears, click on the blue “Sign Up for Flu Vaccinations” button.
Provide information about your child (or yourself if you are an HCPSS staff member), completing all fields denoted with a red asterisk. If you have insurance, your insurance will be billed, but you will not be charged a copay or deductible. If you do not have insurance, select “no insurance.”

The online registration and consent form is available in English, Spanish, and Korean.

Registered students will receive the flu vaccine at their school during the school day.

The flu is a serious illness that affects people of all ages. One of the best ways to prevent the flu is through vaccinations. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone ages 6 months and older get a flu shot. Visit www.cdc.gov/flu/index.htm for more information about the flu vaccine.
