BSAP College & Career Opportunities Night: the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Social Experience Thursday, Oct. 22nd from 5:30-9:00pm at Long Reach High School. The College and Career Opportunities Night, previously known as College Information Night, is an annual event that exposes and provides students in grades 8 through 12the opportunity to meet with college, business and entrepreneur recruiters in a variety of career fields. This event has been expanded to meet the needs and interests of more students in the Howard County Public School System. The keynote address will focus on the current trends of academic excellence and expectations of students to be college and career ready; following the keynote, several small group sessions will be offered to meet individual needs and interests of students and families. To assist students in specific areas in regards to graduation and post secondary life, students are able to pre-register for a 20-minute appointment with a school counselor. This year’s event will host several Historically Black Colleges and Universities. In addition to Greek Fraternity and Sorority organizations, a marching band will provide information and demonstration (or expression) of the HBCU academic and social experience.
