PSAT Day – October 14th

Atholton High will be administering the PSAT to all 10th and 11th graders on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. This test is free of charge for sophomores and juniors and will be completed during the school day. No registration is necessary for 10th and 11th graders. Ninth graders will be going on a field trip to the Smithsonian in Washington, DC.

The PSAT/NMSQT measures students in three areas: critical reading skills, math problem solving and writing skills.  All 10th and 11th graders taking the PSAT have received the PSAT Student Bulletin in their English classes.  Students and parents, please take the time to review the bulletin in preparation for the PSAT on October 14th.  The bulletin contains valuable information such as types of questions on the PSAT, tips and hints on how to take the PSAT, scholarship information, as well as a practice test, with an answer sheet.  Additional online practice can be found at:  PSAT Practice.  Student will receive a detailed score report in January 2016.

Ninth graders who wish to register for the PSAT will be required to pay a $15 registration fee. All payments for ninth grade registration are due by October 2nd. Checks can be made payable to Atholton High School and dropped off to Ms. Beneski in Student Services. There are no registration forms required. If you have anyquestions about registration, please contact Patrick Scible at patrick_scible@hcpss.org
