Choose Civility Poster & Video Contest

All HCPSS students in grades K-12 are encouraged to enter the countywide Choose Civility poster and video contest. This year’s theme is Would You Say That To My Face, focusing on social media responsibility. Students may work individually or in groups.

 

ENTRY CRITERIA AND SUBMISSION

Poster size: 11” x 14” (horizontal or vertical)
Videos: two minutes maximum
Media: Marker, colored pencil, paint, computer, photography, or mixed media; technology such as augmented reality welcome
Original art created solely by the contestant—no adult contributions or copyrighted characters
Each poster submission should include the student’s name, grade level, school, email address, and phone number on the reverse side of the artwork.
Videos should be submitted on a flash drive labeled with the student’s name, grade level, school, email address, and phone number.

Entries may be dropped off or mailed to Monica Herber at the Columbia Association Art Center, 6100 Foreland Garth, Columbia, MD 21045 between Feb. 1 and March 25.

Submitted pieces will be on exhibit at the Columbia Art Center April 11-29, and winners will be honored and announced during a reception and awards ceremony on Wednesday, April 13.
